Finding Work Abroad

This article gives details on finding employment outside the United Kingdom

Who do I need?

Careers and Employment - this is the University of Hertfordshire's careers service; they provide information, guidance and advice to you to increase your employment prospects once you have finished your studies.

  • Disney / University of California Placement Programme - The University of California, Riverside Certificate in Hospitality & Tourism Management or Management, offered in partnership with University of Hertfordshire is a 30 ECTS credit certificate program that blends academic coursework with supervised paid training at the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida. Please email Careers@herts.ac.uk or Placements@herts.ac.uk to find out more.

  • Book an appointment - Book an appointment with a careers adviser to discuss your career options in regards to working abroad. You can also get CV and application form feedback and interview support. For information on other ways a Careers Adviser can help you have a look at the following resource: How can a Careers Adviser help? This hand-out lists just some of the topics that can be covered in consultation with a Careers Adviser.

  • Workshops and Events - Keep an eye on the Events section on Handshake, as we sometimes hold International job search workshops. These workshops will help you find out more about working and/or studying abroad and the fantastic Erasmus placement opportunities available in Europe.
