What is 'A Changed World'?
Coronavirus has changed the way we live, work, and communicate. It has impacted the global economy, politics, the environment, and the societies and communities in which we establish and sustain relationships with each other. We have had to adapt, create, adjust, and think differently in the face of the new challenges the virus has presented to us. In response to this the University is hosting a semester-long externally-facing project that shares our staff and students’ reflections on the impact of the virus.
How can you get involved?
We want you to reflect on what the past six months have been like for you. How has COVID-19 impacted your life? Has the pandemic made you think differently?
If you think it's important to find ways of creative something positive from all this - a way to help you and others move forward - then we would love for you to get involved.
We are asking for you to explore the exciting multimedia content that will be available via the dedicated webpage and to respond to it in any way that suits you. You can:
- Write an essay, poem, short story, or memoir
- Submit photographs taken during lockdown
- Paint a picture or make a sculpture
- Record a short audio diary, or a conversation with a friend comparing your experience
- Record a song or some music you’ve made
So long as the content responds in some way to what your experience has been, it’s entirely up to you.
You might want to do something by yourself, with a friend (or friends), or collectively with one of the fantastic Students' Union groups.
We are particularly keen that the diversity of the Herts community is fully expressed – we each have a voice, and we want as many of those voices as possible to be heard.
