Accommodation for Continuing Students September 2023

Find out about accommodation for returning students, including those with extenuating circumstances

Applications for accommodation in the 2023/24 academic year for Intermediate and final year students will open at 2pm on Tuesday 13th December.

University managed accommodation for continuing students will be allocated on a first come first served basis so please ensure you apply as soon as the portal opens as applications will be rejected once we have allocated all available rooms.

Students with extenuating circumstances

If you have special circumstances or a disability defined under the Disability Discrimination Act 1995, where your academic progress and well-being depends on living in university managed accommodation you can include this information in your application.

If you have extenuating circumstances you will need to apply as a continuing student following the process outlined below.

Eligibility

  • You must be a full time student of the University of Hertfordshire
  • You must not have any debt to the university

How to apply

  1. Login to the accommodation portal
  2. Create an application for the next academic year - 2023/24
  3. When asked to select the type of application choose Continuing Students
  4. If you have extenuating circumstances then in the Medical details or Important Information sections explain your circumstances and why you require university managed accommodation
  5. Submit your application

Individual Applicants

 If you are applying as an individual applicant you can apply for any of our rooms at College Lane or de Havilland.

Group Applications

Our Group application option lets you apply as a group of up to 12 persons to be housed together in 42 and 50 week Townhouses, and Single En-Suites on de Havilland .

Groups of 6 or less  can apply for 42 or 50 week Townhouses, Enhanced, Single En-suites, and Single rooms on College Lane or 42 week Single En-suites on de Havilland.

Twin/Double rooms are available for groups of two or less or individual applicants.

Your group leader will need to know which rooms your group wants to apply for and each group members' email address as a  group code will be emailed automatically to all members of the group once the group leader has made the application.

Members of the group should only apply once they receive the automated email invitation with the group code.  Members cannot be added to a group once allocation of rooms begin so please do not delay applying once you receive the group code.

PLEASE NOTE:  If you start your application before you receive the email from your group leader inviting you to join the group  you will not be able to join the group as the system will not recognise your code.
