Twin and Double En-Suite rooms

You can apply for a Twin or Double En-Suite room at College Lane as:

  • An individual applicant, or
  • A group of two students

Can I choose my own room?

Individual applicants

Individual applicants can apply for accommodation on either the College Lane or de Havilland campuses.

The Book Now option allows you to select an available room during the application process.

If you choose a room through Book Now, you will then continue to the deposit and payment pages.

When should I not use Book Now?

Do not use Book Now if you:

  • Have additional medical requirements
  • Require single-sex accommodation
  • Want a twin room

Instead, select up to five room preferences and allow Accommodation Services to make you an offer.

Financial and disciplinary checks

Applications are subject to debt and disciplinary checks:

  • At the time of application
  • After an offer is made
  • At various points before you move in

How do group applications work?

Groups of up to 12 students can apply together for:

  • 42 and 50-week Townhouses
  • Single En-Suite accommodation on de Havilland

Creating a group application

  1. The Group Leader starts the application and creates the group.
  2. Other group members receive an Invitation to Apply email.
  3. Group members sign in to the portal and accept the invitation.
  4. Once everyone has joined, the Group Leader can select rooms for the group using Book Now.

Important: Do not submit an individual application before receiving your invitation email, as this may prevent the group booking from progressing.

Things to be aware of

  • Invitations must be accepted before they expire.
  • Once a group is confirmed, no additional members can be added.
  • Changes to a group after offers have been accepted may incur a £25 variation of contract charge per student.
  • All group members must clear any outstanding University debt before the Group Leader applies.
  • If one member has debt, it may affect the group's ability to complete the booking.

When should groups not use Book Now?

Groups should not use Book Now if any member:

  • Has additional medical requirements
  • Needs single-gender accommodation
  • Wants a Premium En-Suite room
  • Wants a Twin En-Suite room
  • Is on a course with an earlier start date

Instead, select up to five room preferences and wait for an accommodation offer.

What happens if I do not get a room?

Accommodation is allocated on a first come, first served basis and demand may exceed availability.

If you are not allocated a room in University accommodation, see the student guide to private renting for advice on finding accommodation in the private sector.
