How do I get my award certificate?
Once your award has been confirmed by the Board of Examiners, your hard copy certificate will be posted to you.
You will also receive access to a digital version of your certificate through Herts Digital Documents.
How do I replace a certificate or transcript?

- Receiving your award certificate

What is Herts Digital Documents?
Herts Digital Documents is a secure online portal for University of Hertfordshire graduates.
The portal allows you to:
- Access a digital version of your certificate
- Share your qualification securely with employers and other organisations
- Control who can view your certificate and how long they can access it
How do I access my digital certificate?
When your digital certificate is ready, you will receive an automated email inviting you to register for Herts Digital Documents.
To register, you will need:
- Your student number
- Personal details to verify your identity
Do not create an account until you have received your invitation email.
Can I access older certificates?
You can view certificates for awards achieved from 1 July 2024 onwards in Herts Digital Documents.
Certificates awarded before this date are not currently available through the portal.

How do I share my digital certificate?
You can securely share your digital certificate with employers, training providers, professional bodies and other organisations through Herts Digital Documents.
To share your certificate:
- Log in to Herts Digital Documents.
- Create a connection with the person you want to share your certificate with.
- Enter their name and email address.
- Choose how long they can access your certificate.
The person you share your certificate with will receive an email invitation to access it.
You can also include a message with your invitation.
Important
Your digital certificate is only valid when viewed and shared through Herts Digital Documents.
Adding social media links
You can add links to your social media profiles within Herts Digital Documents.
We recommend only linking professional profiles, such as LinkedIn, as anyone you share your certificate with will be able to view these links.
