About the Bayfordbury Observatory
Bayfordbury Observatory is the University of Hertfordshire's teaching observatory for astronomy and astrophysics, used extensively in our Astrophysics programme. It is one of the best equipped and largest teaching observatories in the country.
How can I visit the observatory?
Students from any Herts programme can visit the Bayfordbury Observatory student hub to learn more about the observatory or to contact the staff.
If you’re interested in visiting the observatory, why not attend an open evening or arrange a group visit? Open evenings are held at once a month from October to March, and are tailored to the public so that adults, children and amateur astronomers alike can all enjoy the event. Private group visits can also be arranged for 15 or more attendees.
You’ll find lots of information about the observatory and the research that takes place there on the Bayfordbury Observatory website.
