Find out more about controlled access areas at the university and how access is approved.
Which areas have controlled access?
Access to some areas is controlled by electronic readers:
- Labs
- Workshops
- Studios
- Media suites
How is access to controlled areas approved?
Your ID card will need to be programmed to allow you entry.
We are usually notified of your requirements by your School before the course commences and access is granted at the time of registration (for new students) and renewed before you return (for returning students).
Need more support
Should you experience any problems, please contact us by email (accesscontrol@herts.ac.uk) and provide your membership number (found on your ID card) along with details of where access is required.
All access requests have to be authorised in writing (this may be by your Programme Leader/Programme Tutor or Line Manager/Head of Department).
