Finding a graduate job

This article contains four key stages to help you find a graduate job.

Who do I need?

Careers and Employment - this is the University of Hertfordshire's careers service; they provide information, guidance and advice to you to increase your employment prospects once you have finished your studies.

What do I need to do?

  • Visit the Careers and Employment website - Access our range of resources to support your job search. You'll find interactive tools, articles, programmes, and recorded videos that have been created by industry experts and our Careers Advisers for University of Hertfordshire students and graduates.
  • Visit Handshake and do a vacancy search  - Browse graduate job opportunities on our online portal, they are updated regularly. Also look at the Job hunting website guide  as this resource gives some useful job hunting websites, whether you are searching for graduate careers, work experience, internships, placements and international opportunities.
  • Book an appointment - Book an appointment with a careers adviser to discuss your Career options, get CV and application form feedback and interview support. For information on how a Careers Adviser can help you, have a look at the following resource: How can a Careers Adviser help? This hand-out lists just some of the topics that can be covered in consultation with a Careers Adviser.
  • Workshops and Events - Keep an eye on the Events section on Handshake for details of Master Classes and workshops on campus that are related to graduate jobs.
