Graduate Progression Fund 2025/2026

The Graduate Progression Fund is a payment of up to £150 awarded to eligible graduates to help with job hunting costs such as travel expenses for attending interviews, interview clothing, devices, and software.

Who is eligible?

  1. Graduates who:

a) have completed an undergraduate degree full time at UH, based at the Hatfield Campus and graduated in 2024/25 or graduating in 2025/2026; and

b) whilst a UH student, have met one or both of UH’s “Access and Participation Plan”  criteria:

  • received Free School Meals at school; 
  • come from or live in an area that experiences higher levels of socio-economic disadvantage (IMD Quintile 1).

      We can help tell graduates if they fall into the criteria, if they are not sure.

c) apply for the Graduate Progression Fund in the 2025/26 academic year by 30th June 2026, 23:59pm.

      2. Graduates will not be eligible for the Graduate Progression Fund if they:

a) don't meet the criteria above;

b) have received the Graduate Progression Fund before;

c) were undertaking a degree apprenticeship;

d)  were studying a distance learning course/programme; or

e) were registered on a course delivered by one of the UH’s consortium colleagues, when they were a student.

What is the application process?

Eligible graduates should apply via the Blackbullion graduate progression fund link by the deadline 30th June 2026, 23:59pm. UH will be able to identify qualifying graduates from student records. Graduates will be asked how they plan to use the money and will need to fill in a fund application form and accept Blackbullion's T&Cs.

If you're eligible for the Graduate Progression Fund, we'll email you shortly after the application deadline to confirm this and explain how the payment will be made.

Payment details

Eligible graduates will receive a payment of up to £150 paid in one instalment.

Payments are usually processed within two weeks of receiving a completed eligible application, provided the correct bank details have been supplied and all sections of the application have been completed.

Bank details previously provided to the University of Hertfordshire will be used. If these have changed, please notify the University to correct these. If you have not previously provided your bank details to the University of Hertfordshire, please do so when asked by UH's Funding’ team.
