Help with your visa application

Services offered by Student Immigration Team (Advice) in advising, checking and submitting your Student visa application

The Student Immigration Team (Advice) can:

  • Advise you in how to make a successful visa application at a drop-in session or scheduled appointment
  • Assist you in completing your online visa application at a scheduled Student Visa workshop
    • You should book a place on the workshop when you have received your CAS
    • You must set up your UKVI account and complete the ID check before the workshop
    • You must bring your mobile phone/laptop/tablet, passport, BRP card (if applicable), new CAS number, UK National Insurance Number (if applicable), UK Driving License (if applicable), National ID Card (if applicable). Your accommodation addresses for the last two years and travel history details.

The Student Immigration Team (Advice) cannot:

  • Submit late applications.
  • Guarantee how long the Home Office will take to process your application or speed up the application process. The standard processing time is approximately 8 weeks, but in busy times (September to January) these processing times can be much longer.

DO NOT make any travel plans until after you have received your visa decision and accessed your eVisa.

If you need to leave the UK after your application has been submitted, you will need to request the withdrawal of your application  – you may lose your application fee and will then have to return home immediately to make a new application from outside the UK.
