What is the Herts Excellence Award?

The Herts Excellence Award is an online careers and enterprise award that helps you recognise and showcase the skills, experience and achievements you gain alongside your degree.

You can complete the award while working, volunteering, undertaking an internship or apprenticeship, or building your own business.

How does the award work?

The award has five stages:

  1. Get started

Create and develop your LinkedIn profile, build your professional network and prepare to gain work-based experience.

  1. Record your experience

Log your work-based experience, such as:

  • Part-time work
  • Volunteering
  • Internships
  • Apprenticeships

You'll also record the skills you develop as part of your career portfolio.

  1. Develop your skills

Complete enterprise and employability activities that support your career goals.

  1. Reflect on your experience

Review what you've learned and identify the skills and experience you've developed.

  1. Submit your final assessment

Create a poster, video or presentation that demonstrates your learning and achievements. Your submission will be assessed by Careers experts.

What do I receive when I complete the award?
