About the programme
If you identify as LGBTQ+ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer, non-binary or any of the sexualities, genders and identities that fall under the plus) then you can apply to be part of our new LGBTQ+ mentoring programme.
You can expect:
- a mentor who is there to listen and support you in achieving your goals
- online/face-to-face meetings lasting up to an hour, depending on your needs, once or twice a month
- a partnership that can last up to one academic year
- complete confidentiality (unless there is a perceived safeguarding concern)
If you wish, you’ll have a safe and non-judgmental space to explore and discuss your sexual orientation or gender identity and be provided with specific support, guidance and signposted to helpful resources. Your mentor can also help support you in building your confidence.
Everybody’s lived experiences are different, so the goals for the mentoring scheme will vary from person to person.
