Mobile phones, watches and 'smart' devices in exams

Exam regulations relating to electronic devices in exam rooms

Mobile phones, all watches and any other electronic devices (such as Fitness Trackers) are not allowed on your person during exams.

They must be switched completely off with any alarms de-activated.  The only place they can be kept is in the plastic box provided at your desk e.g. not in your pocket or at the side of the room.

If you are found to have either on your person during an examination you will be deemed to have committed an act of academic misconduct. This is a disciplinary offence and may have serious consequences.

The University may use mobile phone detectors during examinations. Random scanning may take place before, during and after exams, and during any permitted and escorted toilet breaks.
