Race Equality Charter Mark (RECM)

Find out how the University supports black and minority ethnic students and staff

Everyone at the University of Hertfordshire has an ethnic background and this makes up an important part of our sense of identity. To help us create an inclusive culture and an environment where all individuals are able to thrive, irrespective of race or ethnicity, we are involved in the Race Equality Charter Mark.  We are very proud that the University of Hertfordshire is one of only 8 institutions to have been successful in gaining a Bronze award.

By engaging with this process, we have shown our commitment to improving the representation, progression and success of minority ethnic staff and students at UH and within HE in general.

The work we have been engaged with in developing our submission has given us an understanding of staff and student views and experiences about working and studying at UH. This has helped us develop an Action Plan for the whole University that will make a tangible difference to people's lives.
