Who do I need?

Herts Enterprise - This service provides support to students and graduates thinking about setting up their own business.

What we offer?

  • Enterprise Advice Sessions - Our one-to-one sessions are hosted by experts and business advisors. At an appointment you can discuss your business idea and get feedback on how to move forward. To make these sessions easily accessible they are held on campus within the Careers and  Employment  offices. To book an appointment visit Handshake.
  • Enterprise Workshops - our workshops are a must for anyone that needs the skills to support their business idea, freelance venture or start-up. A specially designed schedule of interactive workshops, boot-camps and events have been planned to equip you with the essential tools to be your own boss.  Workshops we regularly hold are as follows: ‘Generating ideas’, ‘Setting up an online business’ and ‘How to write a business plan’. To book in at a workshop visit Handshake.

N.B: International students are able to work up to twenty hours per week, depending on your visa conditions. You can undertake most types of work but you must NOT engage in business or self-employment; or be employed as a professional sports person, entertainer or doctor in training, and cannot fill a permanent full-time vacancy. UH international students are also not eligible to undertake a self-employed placement year or placement working from home.

If you are a student working at the University of Hertfordshire, you will be able to work a maximum of 15 hours per week regardless of whether you are a home or international student.
