If you are a current University of Hertfordshire student struggling to cover essential, day-to-day living expenses then you may be eligible for the Short-Term Assistance Grant. This awards a non-repayable £250 to assist with the rising living costs.
STAG is now accepting applications, however it may close without warning if the funds is depleted. Please be aware that there is a delay in processing applications due to a high volume.
How to apply
Please read the full criteria and the application process in the Short-Term Assistance Grant . Applications will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
You will need to register online at www.blackbullion.com. Then click the ‘Funding’ tab where you will see "Short-Term Assistance Grant".
The only evidence we require is your latest one-month (30 days) bank statements, from all the bank accounts you hold.
Eligibility
This grant is open to both Overseas and Home students. You must be a current fully registered student at the University of Hertfordshire. Students from partner and consortium colleges are not eligible.
Dates and Deadlines
There are no deadlines; however due to limited funds, students are encouraged to apply early as funds will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. Once the fund's resources have been exhausted; it will be closed without advanced warning.
Receiving an award
If your application is successful, you will receive a £250 non-repayable award. The results of your assessment will be sent to your student email address.
Timeframe
An assessment and decision should be made within 4 working weeks of submission of a completed application form, including all required documentary evidence.
However, there may be times when this process may take longer than the 4 weeks outlined above, you will be notified via email if we require a longer time for assessment to be completed.
Appeals
The decision on your application from this grant is final. There is no right to appeal.
Re-applying
You can only submit one application, per an academic year.
