What is a Student Support Number (SSN)?
Your Student Support Number (SSN) is a unique number issued to you by the Student Loans Company (SLC). It is sometimes called your customer reference number and has the following format: SFDU12345678A.
Why we need it
We use your SSN to:
- Access your Student Loans Company record
- Check your funding details
- Release your payments
- Without it, your funding cannot be processed.
What you need to do
Make sure you have given us your SSN.
If you have not:
- Check your Student Finance account
- Find your customer reference number
- Provide it to the Student Funding and Financial Support team
Where to find your SSN
You can find your SSN:
- In your Student Finance England (or your relevant awarding body) account
- On emails or letters from Student Finance
