Examples of what Sustainability Advocates do:
- Environmental audits and wildlife surveys
Sustainability Advocates conduct a number of environmental audits including energy audits, recycling audits and Green Teams audits. Sustainability Advocates also receive training and carry out various wildlife surveys including hedgehog footprint surveys, birdwatches and butterfly counts.
Sustainability Advocates have the opportunity to take part in different community outreach events including KS3 Climate Summit, YouthCOP and Festival of Ideas. Sustainability Advocates also regularly join the Sustainability team for pop-up stalls to educate the Univeristy community on environmental campaigns/initiatives such as Go Green Week, Sustainable Fashion, Unblocktober and Veganuary.
- Allotment sessions, litter picks and visits to green spaces
Sustainability Advocates can get involved in physical activities such as gardening sessions, tree planting, community clean ups and visits to local parks and forests.

We recently celebrated our Sustainability Advocates efforts by holding the Sustainabilty Advcoate Awards this May. These included:
20 Certificate of Participation (Over 5 volunteer hours)
20 Bronze Certfiicate (Over 10 volunteer hours)
15 Silver Certificate (Over 20 volunteer hours)
4 Gold Certificate (Over40 volunteer hours)
1 Diamond Certificate (Over 60 volunteer hours)
3 Plartinum Certificate (Over 80 volunteer hours)
