IT works impacting student and staff services - 08:00 Tuesday 8 July – 08:00 Thursday 10 July
Access to some university systems will be temporarily unavailable from 08:00 Tuesday 8 July – 08:00 Thursday 10 July while essential upgrade works take place.
Please note how you will be affected and plan ahead as there will be disruption to the following student and staff facing services while works take place:
Ask Herts services
- Ask Herts Hubs and self-service kiosks will be closed on Tuesday 8 July and will reopen at 1pm on Wednesday 9 July.
- Ask Herts phonelines will be closed on Tuesday 8 July and will reopen at 10am on Wednesday 9 July.
- Students can still contact Ask Herts using the contact form.
- Automatic student status letters will not be generated so please download a version in advance if needed, or wait to do so until Thursday 10 July
SMS and UH mobile app feed and notifications
- Any timetable changes will be communicated by your Module or Programme Leader on Canvas.
- If you have an appointment with Occupational Health, or are awaiting an appointment, please check your email for your appointment details
- All other app notifications will be unavailable
UH membership applications
- There will be a delay in processing membership requests.

Planned IT maintenance
Please make a note of the following dates which have been agreed in consultation with staff from across the University
Please work on the basis that there will be no access to any IT services during these dates as you plan activities, however, in advance of works taking place Library and Computing Services will advise on the anticipated impact of the work being undertaken.

'At risk' times for systems maintenance
‘At risk’ periods are the times reserved for systems maintenance, which may result in a downtime of the service.
Weekly service 'at risk' periods are:
Tuesdays 07.00 – 09.00
Thursdays 07.00 - 10.00
Please note that network access may be restricted or disconnected at any time in the event of a threat to network security, the interests of the work of the University or any unusual activity.
