Can apprenticeship students access wellbeing support?
Yes. As an apprenticeship student at the University of Hertfordshire, you can access all University wellbeing services, including while you are in the workplace and outside term time.
Looking after your wellbeing as an apprentice
Balancing work, study and everyday life can be rewarding, but it can also be challenging.
The University recognises that apprentices often have different experiences from other students. It is common to feel stretched between your responsibilities at work and university.
You may sometimes feel:
- Like you are not a "real student" at university
- Like you are not fully productive at work
These feelings can lead to:
- Imposter syndrome in both settings
- Pressure to constantly prove your value
- Difficulty asking for support
You do not need to wait until things become overwhelming before seeking help. Whether you are experiencing stress, anxiety, low mood, challenges at work or university, or simply want someone to talk to, support is available.
Being an apprentice means learning and developing in both the workplace and at university. Looking after your wellbeing is an important part of that journey.
