Applying for a visa in person at a UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) Service Point

Information about attending your biometric appointment for your Student Visa
  • If you are not eligible to use the UKVI IDV app and are required to book an appointment as part of your online application, UK Visa and Citizenship Application Services (UKVCAS) will contact you by email.
  • Free and chargeable appointments are available at all UKVCAS Service Points. These locations are nearest to Hatfield. You can find other centres near you on the UKVCAS website - just enter your postcode.
  • New free appointments are released every day at 9am, and new chargeable appointments are released every day at midnight.
  • Plan ahead when booking an appointment - you can never guarantee you will get a time as soon as you would like. At certain times of the year (September – January) it may be very difficult to find an appointment.
  • Unless you have already uploaded your documents when applying online, you will need to bring your passport, appointment confirmation letter with QR code, and supporting documents to your appointment.
  • At the appointment you will need to show your passport to prove your identity, and you’ll have your fingerprints, photograph and signature recorded (known as ‘enroling your biometrics’).
  • Your passport will be returned to you after your appointment

⚠️ Do not travel outside of the UK until you have received your visa decision and accessed your eVisa!
