Request an army exemption letter if compulsory military service applies in your country and you need proof that you are a registered University of Hertfordshire student.

On this page:

Why do I need an Army exemption letter?

Some countries require citizens to complete military service.

If you are a fully registered student, you may be exempt from military service and can request a letter confirming your student status.

Who can apply?

You can apply if:

  • Military service is compulsory in your country.
  • You are a fully registered University of Hertfordshire student.
  • You do not have any outstanding debt with the University.

Please note:

  • Requirements vary by country, so please check whether compulsory military service applies to you before applying.
  • If you apply and army service is not compulsory in the selected country, your application will be denied. For countries where service is not compulsory, but you have been asked to serve, please request a student status letter instead
  • You must be a fully registered student in order to be considered for an exemption letter
  • We will be unable to provide you with an army exemption letter if you have any sort of debt with the university
