International student letters: Army exemption

In some countries serving in the army is compulsory, request a letter stating that you are a student which may make you exempt

Why you need this letter

  • In some countries serving in the army is compulsory for all citizens
  • If you are a registered student you may be exempt from serving

Before you apply

  • Please check whether compulsory army service is required in your country. Many countries have different requirements and so you may not even need to make this application
  • If you apply and army service is not compulsory in the selected country, your application will be denied. For countries where service is not compulsory, but you have been asked to serve, please request a student status letter instead
  • You must be a fully registered student in order to be considered for an exemption letter
  • We will be unable to provide you with an army exemption letter if you have any sort of debt with the university
  • Please note, your letter may take up to 7 working days to produce and this will be delivered to the email address you provide us
