Enrolling your biometric information as part of your Student Visa application

Recording your fingerprints, photo, and digital signature (known as ‘enrolling your biometrics’) as part of your visa application

Every new and extended Student Visa application requires that you register your fingerprints, photo and digital signature (known as ‘enrolling your biometrics’).

You can use the UKVI IDV app to submit your biometric information if you have an iPhone 7 or newer or an Android phone with near-field communication (NFC).

If you are unable to use the app, you will need to book and attend a biometric enrolment appointment at a UKVCAS Service Point once you have submitted your online Student Visa application. If you didn’t upload your documents when submitting your application online, you will need to bring them to your appointment.

At your appointmet you will need to show your confirmation with QR code, your passport, and your supporting documents. After you confirm your identity you will enrol your biometrics (fingerprints, photo and digital signature) in the self-service booth.

⚠️ Your visa application will not be processed until you have attended your appointment and enrolled your biometrics.
