What is Student Loans Company (SLC) funding?
Student Loans Company (SLC) funding may include:
- Tuition fee loan or grant
- Maintenance loan

New students starting a full-time or part-time Master’s course in the 2026/2027 academic year may be eligible to apply for a postgraduate loan. For further information, visit: Postgraduate Loans.

What to do if your circumstances change
If your situation changes during your studies, for example if you:
- Change your course
- Suspend your studies
- Withdraw from your course
You must let us know by submitting a Change of Circumstance (CoC) request.
Important: Contact the Student Funding and Financial Support Team before making any academic decisions. Changes may affect your funding entitlement and what you are required to pay.

You can manage your student finance account online using the correct service for your home country:
- Students from England: www.gov.uk/student-finance
- Students from Wales: www.studentfinancewales.co.uk
- Students from Northern Ireland: www.studentfinanceni.co.uk
Consent to share information
If you need help resolving an issue with your student finance, we can contact the Student Loans Company on your behalf.
To allow this, you must set up “consent to share” with your funding provider.
To do this, contact your relevant Student Finance service.
