What is a Student visa credibility interview?
Some students applying for permission to stay in the UK on a Student visa may be asked to attend a credibility interview.
The interview is part of the visa application process and helps the Home Office assess your application, including whether you are a genuine plans to study in the UK.
How will I be invited to an interview?
The Home Office will contact you in writing by email and letter if you need to attend an interview.
You must confirm with the Home Office that you will attend.
What if I cannot attend my interview?
If you cannot attend on the date you have been given, contact the Interview Hub immediately.
It is important that you attend your interview. Failure to attend can affect your visa application.
What questions could I be asked?
You may be asked about:
- your course
- your academic history
- your post study plans
- your personal background
- your finances
- your personal details.
Always answer questions honestly.
How can I avoid visa scams?
The Home Office will never ask for any payments over the telephone and you should not give out your credit card details.
