The importance of this training
ℹ️The University of Hertfordshire is committed to a zero‑tolerance approach to harassment, sexual misconduct, and violence. This training helps ensure every student understands consent, respect, and how to access support. Completion is part of enrolment and progression requirements.

Exemptions
We recognise that some students may find this training difficult because of past experiences. Exemptions are considered only in specific circumstances:
- You have completed equivalent accredited training within the last 12 months.
- You require accessibility adjustments that cannot be met through the standard format.
- You have experienced harassment, domestic abuse, or sexual misconduct and feel unable to complete the training.
How to request an exemption
- Contact the Harassment, Domestic & Sexual Misconduct Service in Student Wellbeing; Harassment, Domestic & Sexual Misconduct Service
- You will be listened to in confidence, supported, and guided through the exemption process.
- Where appropriate, an alternative format or exemption will be arranged.
Training completion required for progression
If you do not complete it and no exemption is agreed:
- Access to some systems or services may be restricted.
- You may be prevented from registering for modules or progressing in your studies.
- Persistent non‑compliance will be escalated under the University’s Code of Conduct.

You are not alone. If you feel unable to complete the training because of past experiences, please reach out. The University will listen, support you, and ensure your safety and wellbeing are prioritised.
