What you need to know before you begin your studies

This is only applicable to NEW student. Please note that if you are studying with HIC, Pen Green, Mary Hare, USP, CPD Health and Online Degree courses you are required to contact your school admin hub.

If you hold an unconditional offer (which you have firmly accepted), your welcome letter will become available to you no earlier than 40 days prior to the start date of your programme. You will be sent an email when your instructions are ready.  Click on the portal link in the email or click here and log in with your student ID number.

If you do not receive the email, please contact the Ask Herts Team for further information.

Welcome letter

Your welcome letter sets out everything you need to know for your first few weeks at Uni including any pre-reading or resources you might need for your course. The registration portal will also show you the start date, time and location of your first session at Herts.  If you are unable to attend this session please contact the Ask Herts Team

You can download the Herts Mobile app which includes a map so that you can find your classroom.

Programme documents

Beneath the details of your first session and the box that contains information about the portal you will find a list of important documents for your programme.  Take your time to read these documents carefully as they will include your induction timetable, contact information and details of any additional reading or pre-course activities required to prepare you for your studies.

We also recommend that you complete the getting started at Herts online course before you start.
