Below are documents that show the vacation dates for each academic School.

These documents only apply to the 2025–2026 academic year unless otherwise indicated.

A guide to finding your vacation dates

  • Choose the dates that match when you started your course.
    You will have started in either Semester A (September) or Semester B (January).
  • Not sure which School your course belongs to? Go to www.herts.ac.uk, search for your course, and download the programme specification.This document tells you which School your course is part of. (For example, this is shown for MSc Finance and Investment Banking).
  • Employers can also look up this information themselves.
  • For guidance on using these documents, visit the providing evidence of vacation periods to employers  page on Ask Herts.
  • Please note, there may be a discrepancy between the start date shown on your student status letter, and the first date on the vacation date documents. This is because the vacation date documents apply to numerous students; you must use the start date on your student status letter as proof of when you commenced your studies.

Unfortunately, we are unable to stamp or sign student status letters or vacation date documents to verify their authenticity. Organisations can contact us directly for verification using the Ask Herts contact form. Alternatively, you can request your express student status letter whilst with them - it only takes 15 minutes!

Please note, any attempt to edit these documents may be claused as fraud and will be reported to the Dean of Students to investigate in line with our Student Discipline Procedure.
