Before you upload:
- Files must be in PDF or JPEG format
- Maximum file size is 6MB per document
Identification requirements
To complete your registration, you must provide identification documents.
The documents required depend on your immigration status.
Home students (UK/Irish Nationals)
Preferred document:
- UK or Irish passport (photo page)
Alternative documents (both required):
- Full birth certificate
- UK photo driving licence
You must meet the criteria for British citizenship to register using a birth certificate. A driving licence on its own is not accepted.
If you do not have these documents: Apply for a provisional driving licence. This can be used to support your registration.
Failure to provide valid identification may delay your registration.
Students with EU Settlement Scheme (EUSS) status
You must upload:
- Passport (photo page)
- Personal share code ( generate this from the UK Government website)
- Select: ‘To prove my immigration status for anything else’
- Home Office letter confirming your EUSS status
- If unavailable, provide the date your status was granted
If you have pre-settled status, you do not need to attend a face-to-face registration appointment.
Students with Indefinite Leave to Remain (ILR) in the UK
You must upload:
- Passport photo page
- Personal share code (from the UK Government website)
- Select: ‘To prove my immigration status for anything else’
You will not be able to register without valid identification.
Additional legal ID documents
If your legal name is different from the name on your ID documents, you must provide supporting evidence, such as:
- Marriage or civil partnership certificate
- Name change deeds (if changed by deed poll)
- Passport (if not already provided)
Important:
The name you register with will be used throughout your studies and on your final award certificate. Changes can only be made later with valid supporting evidence, such as a divorce certificate or legal name change documentation.
DBS and counter fraud checks
If your course requires a DBS or Counter Fraud check, refer to the DBS Identification Documents Checklist provided in your joining instructions. This will confirm any additional documents you need to supply
