What documents do I need for face-to-face registration?

Documents all students are required to bring

ALL students that have been advised to attend a face-to-face registration appointment must bring the following documents:

• Your physical passport (digital copies are NOT accepted)
• Your personal right-to-study share code so we can access your eVisa

For guidance setting up your UKVI account and linking to your eVisa please follow the instructions on this video here. For guidance on creating a 'right-to-study' share code, please watch this video here. Make sure your share code is the correct type by selecting 'to prove my status for anything else' when asked 'why do you need a share code?'.

Additional documents required for specific visa types:

• If you are on a Student Route visa: you will also need to provide evidence of your entry into the UK on your Student visa. This can either be a stamp in your Passport (if you received one), or your airline boarding pass (physical or digital) or flight itinerary. These documents must state your full name and the date of travel.

  Although not required, we recommend also bringing your UKVI Decision Letter/email and CAS letter.

• If you are on a Dependant visa: you will need to bring physical or digital copies of the Passport and eVisa of the person on whom you are dependent.
• If you are on a Refugee visa: you will need to provide your UKVI decision letter/email confirming the outcome of your visa application.
• If you are studying for less than 6 months on a visitor visa: you will need to provide evidence of your entry into the UK. This can either be a stamp in your Passport (if you received one), or your physical/digital airline boarding pass or flight itinerary.  If you did not travel by plane, you can alternatively provide Port entry stamp or Eurostar ticket or booking itinerary. These documents must show your name and arrival date into the UK.
  • **Students on visitor visas may now be able to generate an eVisa. If you are able to do so, please bring your eVisa share code with you to your appointment. If you cannot generate an eVisa, the above evidence of your entry into the UK will suffice.**

Other visa-related considerations

Visa not yet granted?

If you have applied for a visa that has not yet been granted, please bring evidence of your full visa application with you (physical or digital). You will also be asked to fill out a UKVI consent form at your appointment so the Student Immigration Team can contact the Home Office to verify your current right to study whilst you await a decision on your visa. Please note, even if you are permitted to register on this basis, if your visa is refused by UKVI and you no longer have the right to study in the UK, you may be withdrawn.

If you applied for your Student visa from within the UK

If you currently hold a Student visa which you applied for from within the UK, please bring evidence of your full visa application with you (physical or digital). This will allow us to confirm you applied in-country and will negate the requirement for proof of entry to the UK.

If you are on a Graduate Route visa

Students usually cannot register on a new course at UH if they currently hold a Graduate Route visa to be in the UK. If this applies to you, you may need to apply for another visa type to be able to study. Please contact the Student Immigration Team for guidance.

Important information

Before your appointment

You must complete online registration before attending your face-to-face registration appointment.

Semester A registration location

Face-to-face registration for Semester A takes place in the Learning Resources Centre (LRC), College Lane Campus.

Fee liability

Please also be aware that if you are joining us from abroad and are intending to self-fund your studies (e.g. if you are intending for your family or friends to pay your tuition fees), you must meet the fee liability deadlines to complete your registration.

If you have already completed the required payment, it may be advisable to bring proof of payment with you.
