From September 2025, staff and students will no longer have access to the subscription version of Zoom, and Microsoft Teams will be the University's single online meeting and collaboration tool.
Many staff and students already use Teams for meetings, chat, and online teaching sessions. Your student Teams account also allows you to record and transcribe any Teams meetings you organise.
You can still use Zoom, but it will be the basic (free) version without Cloud storage for meeting recordings.
Action required:
- Download any Zoom recordings from the Zoom cloud storage that you want to keep. We won't be able to retrieve any recording for you after August.
- Don’t schedule any Zoom meetings after August 2025
If you have set up a Zoom account with your University credentials it will remain available, but will be limited to the free Zoom account features .
