LRC and library services over Easter

Find out what’s available in the Learning Resources Centres (LRCs) over the Easter break

The College Lane and de Havilland LRCs will be open 24/7 if you need a quiet place to work over the Easter break.

We advise that you check the University website for the latest LRC opening hours before you travel in case of short notice changes.

Library loans

Items you have on loan will not need to be returned over the Easter vacation period Saturday 28 March to Sunday 12 April inclusive.

Book reservations

You can continue to reserve books and use our request a scan service up until 12.00 on Wednesday 1 April and the amount of time we hold the item will be extended to accommodate the holiday period. 

The reservation and request a scan service will reopen on Tuesday 7  April at 08.30. 

Keep track of your book loans. Just look for My Library Account on your StudyNet > Online Library page

Study skills support

Our Library Skills Support on campus drop-ins in the Study Success Hub, will run until Thursday 26 March and restart on Tuesday 14 April.

Support services

Please note there will be no Helpdesk, library staff or on-site technical support during the holiday weekend. 

  • The LRC Welcome desk will close at 15:00 on Thursday 2 April and reopen at 10:00 on Tuesday 7 April.
  • On-site technical support will be unavailable from Friday 3 April to Monday 6 April and any emails to helpdesk@herts.ac.uk will not be responded to over this period
  • If you have any enquiries or a problem with a service please call the University’s out-of-hours phone service (providing general support) Tel: +44(0)1707 284678.  You can also check the latest status of our services at status.herts.ac.uk.
