When your timetable will be available to view

If you are a new student your timetable will be available once you have completed registration.  It may take up to three working days after you have completed registration for your full timetable to appear on StudyNet.

Over the coming weeks up until your course starts, we will continue to update your timetable with more personalised information and details of your classes as you register and enrol on your modules.

We understand you want to see your timetable as soon as possible so please make sure you:

  • Register on your course
  • Enrol on your modules. This allows us to allocate you to your module activities. You can check your registration status and which modules you are enrolled onto in your Student Record.
  • Check your timetable regularly in the weeks and days leading up to the start of your course.

It can take up to 72 hours (three working days - excluding weekends) for your timetable to update once you have enrolled onto your modules and been allocated to teaching activities.  For example:

  • If you enrol on a Monday you will not see a timetable before Thursday.
  • If you enrol on a Thursday you should see a timetable the next Tuesday (remember weekends do not count as working days).

There are also situations when it can take longer to see your timetable.  For example:

  • If you are re-taking a module we will need to wait for your School or the final Board decisions to update your timetable.
  • Where your School has agreement to allocate you into your tutorials, seminars, workshops or practicals after face-to-face registration. See Need Help below?

What you can expect to see on your timetable

Your timetable contains information about when and where the taught sessions for your module will take place.  It includes activities such as lectures, seminars, and tutorials as well as lab or studio sessions if you are on a practical programme.

Any teaching sessions without a room number or location for your programme will be marked as ‘online’ on your timetable.

Have a look at our step by step guide to adding your timetable to your personal calendar or device.

Please see our Frequently asked questions (FAQs) for further help and information.

Will my timetable change?

Your timetable can change throughout the year, but we try to keep these changes to a minimum. Most changes usually happen in the first few weeks at the start of term, so please check your timetable regularly.

  • We aim to make any changes as early as possible so that you can make any necessary personal arrangements, but this is not always possible.
  • There may be times when we have to re-arrange a class at short notice.  For example: if a staff member is unwell or if there’s an issue with the room - in these cases, you’ll get an email or a text message to let you know.
  • If we change your timetable at short notice (usually within 48 hours) we will send a notification to your mobile. For details see timetable change notification service

Timetable change notifications service

A service for students that tells you about a change to your timetabled activity by sending a message to your mobile device.

How to subscribe to the timetable change notifications service
The best way to receive notifications is through the Herts Mobile app, available for Apple and Android devices; visit mobile.herts.ac.uk to download and then login with yourusername@herts.ac.uk. Along with personalised notifications, the app has some other great features to help you out such as an interactive map of the campus and PC availability.

Important! The service will only tell you about late changes or cancellations due to take place in the next two working days. Always check your timetable on StudyNet for the most up-to-date information and subscribe to the iCal feed to see your academic timetable alongside other events in your calendar.

To stop receiving timetable-related notifications, download the app, log in and unsubscribe from the ‘timetabling’ topic in the apps settings.

If you don’t have the app, you will receive a text message.

If you have any problems with the app, please contact Library and Computing Services Help and Support
