Learning Resources Centres (LRCs)
The College Lane and de Havilland LRCs remain open 24/7 over the Summer. Find out more about LRC services and facilities at ask.herts.ac.uk/learning-resources-centres.
Study skills support
You can continue to access study skills support including online chat, 1-1 online appointments with a librarian and access to all our online study skills resources via Library SkillUP at go.herts.ac.uk/libraryskillup.
Please note that our library and digital skills on campus drop-ins in the LRC Study Success Hubs have finished for the Summer and will restart again in September.
LRC café

Anytime, anywhere access to our services
Whether you are studying on campus or at home over the Summer don’t forget you can access our online services wherever you are:
- Extensive digital book and journal collection via the Online library and Module Reading List/ Resource List from Canvas
- Library SkillUp (Canvas module) specialist online study skills support with lots of useful help on topics such as searching, reading, referencing and evaluating
- Remote desktop service - access an LRC or Lab PC anytime, anywhere
- Additional online resources including subject specific resources; images, video and audio resources; and general reference materials.

Please note that the Welcome Desk on the ground floor of the LRCs will have reduced opening hours from May to September.

Both campus shops will be open 8.00 - 16.00 Monday to Friday. The shops will be closed on bank holidays and weekends.

Student Support
All services are open as normal apart from Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 August 2025, when the office will be closed.
If you are living on campus and need to chat to anyone, just give +44 (0) 1707 281010 a call and ask to speak to a Resident Assistant (RA). Our out of hours RA team will be available 24/7 over during the holiday, so there is always someone you can call.
PAM Wellness (SAP Student Assistant Programme) 24/7 telephone helpline 0808 196 3533. Available 24/7, all year round, for support with emotional wellbeing, bereavement, relationship issues, financial or academic pressures and more.

Ask Herts
The Ask Herts Hutton (College Lane) and Ask Herts de Havilland Hubs will remain open throughout the summer months with the following opening hours in place:
Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 10.00 - 16.00
Tuesdays: 11.00 - 16.00
Fridays: 10.00 - 15.45
The Ask Herts Innovation Hub will be closed until the 16 September.
All Ask Herts Hubs will close on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 August due to the Bank Holiday and a UH Closure Day.

The Forum bar and nightclub
The last student event in The Forum bar and nightclub will be Wednesday 21st May. The Forum bar and nightclub will remain closed to students until 20th September.
Students' Union
The Students' Union will remain open on College Lane, Monday to Friday (10:00 – 16:00) during the summer. Our office in De Havilland will remain closed throughout the summer period.
Advice and Support
Students can use our Advice and Support service throughout the summer. Our opening hours remain as Monday to Friday (10:00 - 16:00) during this time.
Please note that Advice and Support will be unavailable on Monday 19 May, Friday 13 June, Monday 25 August and Tuesday 26 August, inline with our closures as above.
Chaplaincy
Both The Key and The Multi Faith Space will be open as normal but will be closed on Monday 25 and Tuesday 26 August 2025..
Day Nursery
The Nursery is open between 08:00 – 18:00 (Monday – Friday).
It will be closed on Bank Holidays and in between Christmas and New Year, in line with the University closures.
The Nursery will also be closed on Tuesday 26 August for the University closure day.
