Before checking your timetable, make sure you have completed online registration. It can take up to three working days for your timetable to appear after completing registration.
Please note that schools’ programmes may make their timetables available at different dates. Check School programme timetable availability dates for details.
Where can I find my timetable?
You can view your timetable in the Timetable portal.
Your timetable shows:
- Dates and times of your teaching sessions
- Room locations or whether sessions are online
- Activity types such as lectures, seminars, tutorials, labs or studio sessions
If a session does not show a room, it will normally take place online.

When your timetable will be available?
New students: Your timetable will be available after you complete the first stage of online registration subject to the following conditions:
- It can take up to three working days after registration for your full timetable to appear.
- Different School’s may make their programme timetables available to students closer to the teaching date (i.e. to create specific teaching groups). To check see school programme timetable availability dates.
Your timetable will continue to be updated before your course starts as you:
- complete registration
- select optional modules (if applicable)
Your timetable is provisional and may change during the year, especially in the first few weeks of term.
To access your timetable as soon as possible
Make sure you:
- Register on your course
- Choose your optional modules
- Updates may take up to three working days
- Check your timetable regularly before your course starts
When it may take longer
You may see delays if:
- You are re-taking a module and updates depend on School or Board decisions
- Your School allocates tutorials, seminars or practicals after face-to-face registration. See school programme timetable availability dates at the bottom of this page.
What you can expect to see on your timetable
Your timetable shows:
- dates and times of your teaching sessions
- locations or whether sessions are online
- activity types such as lectures, seminars, tutorials, labs or studio sessions
Sessions without a room listed will be marked as online.

Will my timetable change?
Your timetable may change during the year, especially in the first few weeks of term.
- Changes are kept to a minimum where possible
- Updates are made as early as possible to help you plan
- Short-notice changes can happen, for example due to staff absence or room issues
You will be notified:
- by email or text message
- via mobile notifications for changes within 48 hours

How to receive notifications
The best way is through the Herts Mobile app:
- Download from mobile.herts.ac.uk
- Log in with yourusername@herts.ac.uk
The app also includes features such as campus maps and PC availability.

Managing notifications
- You can unsubscribe in the app settings (timetabling topic)
- If you do not use the app, notifications will be sent by text message

How to contact your School
If you need help with your timetable, contact your School.
Include:
- module code, day, time and weeks
- the reason for your request
Your timetable may change during the academic year, especially during the first few weeks of teaching. We try to keep changes to a minimum and let you know as early as possible.
Changes may happen because of:
- room availability
- staff absence
- teaching group changes
- other operational requirements
The University aims to keep changes to a minimum and give as much notice as possible.
How you'll get updates
If your timetable changes, we'll let you know by:
- email or text message
- notifications through the Herts Mobile app (see below)
How do I get timetable notifications?
The easiest way to get timetable updates is through the Herts Mobile app.
Set up notifications
1. Download the Herts Mobile app.
2. Sign in with your University email address.
Important
Notifications only cover timetable changes within the next two working days.
Always check the Timetable portal for the latest version of your timetable.

- You can turn timetable notifications on or off in the app settings.

I can't see my timetable
If your timetable has not appeared three working days after completing registration, first check:
- You have completed online registration.
- Your optional modules have been processed.
- The timetable release date for your programme.
If you study at Hertford Regional College, North Herts College, Oaklands College or West Herts College, your timetable is managed by the college. Please contact your Programme Manager or college help team for a copy of your timetable.
