What is Ask Herts?
Ask Herts is our specialist information and support service, focused on answering all the questions you have throughout your time with the University. The service is available online and – for more complex queries – by phone or in person, at our Ask Herts Hubs.
There are four ways to get the answers you need
- Search Ask Herts Online for an instant answer
- Direct more complex queries straight to the relevant team using our contact form
- Phone the Ask Herts Hubs directly, or
- Visit one of our three Hubs for in-person support
1. Search Ask Herts Online
The fastest way to find answers to your questions is to search Ask Herts online. This vast knowledge library is continually curated by staff across the University who are expert in their subject areas.
You can either type a question or topic into the search box, or navigate using the categories under which all our answers are organised. We’ve also pulled together a few pages with quick links to all of the information categories along with tips on how to find what you need.
2. Go straight to the source with our contact form
If you get stuck or if you have a more complex query, please contact Ask Herts using our online form. For the most efficient support, please ensure you include your full name AND student (or applicant) ID number. Where possible, your form will be directed straight to the experts who will be able to answer your question.
3. Phone the Ask Herts Hubs directly
Ring our support teams on 01707 28 4800 if you have a more complex query that requires a personalised conversation.
4. Visit our Ask Herts Hub teams
If your query is highly complex and you need to speak with someone please visit one of our three Ask Herts Hubs for a face-to-face conversation. You can find the latest opening times and contact details at the bottom of this page:
- Ask Herts Hutton - on the ground floor of the Hutton Hub on the College Lane Campus. Note: there are also many other student services in the Hutton Hub building.
- Ask Herts Innovation - between the Main Reception and the LRC on the College Lane Campus.
- Ask Herts de Havilland - in M Block on the de Havilland Campus.
You can use the maps feature on the Herts Mobile App to find your way to us.
Our Hub teams can usually answer most queries at the first point of contact, but if we can't, we’ll connect you with the relevant department to get your question answered. View the Ask Herts Service Level Agreement here.
